White "Hair" Kokoshnik-Cloche, 1920s

Today, evening caps of this kind can only be seen in museums. We found these in Paris. In the 1920s they were very fashionable and in demand for a short time: When the ladies went out in the evening, they put on such an evening cap or cloche over their hair, in the shape of a wig. In this hair cloche from the 1920s, thin, shimmering white bast threads were used to form hair strands. The design reminds a little of a kokoshnik technique.
