Two-piece tea dress, ca. 1923. Often worn in the afternoon, at garden parties, small house receptions or - as the name suggests - at tea soirees. From the 1920s, such tea dresses have rarely been preserved.
This antique dress comes from an American museum (museum deaccession). The dress is made of filigree lace; it has short sleeves and a gauze hem. The underdress is made of black silk. Short sleeves with little bows. Both dresses are very well preserved. A few tiny holes in the lace. The decoration is not included.
