Opulent evening dress from the wedding of the Titanic era, ca. 1912. Provenance: Valentine Museum, America. The antique dress is a one-piece made of silver-colored lamé fabric. The implied bodice is made of lace, which is covered with an overlay of silk tulle. Wide U-shaped bust cut-out. Short lace sleeves. The dress is gathered at the front, giving it a very distinctive appearance. Two hanging tassels made from glass pins and rhinestones adorn the dress. Small rhinestone buckles adorn the waist area (front and back). Asymmetrical train fastened at the waist with hooks and eyelets. Silk underskirt. In good condition. Minor holes in the silk tulle, subtle discoloration in the lamé fabric, one large stain on the train, lining slightly damaged.
