Ivory silk, satin weave wedding gown with attached train, ca. 1913. The bodice has a large lace shawl collar that follows the scooped neckline both in front and on the Watteau back. The net lace sleeves are long and narrow with a matching ruffled cuff. The bodice has an inner net lace cammy that snap at center front. There is an inner 3-inch wide waist tape that provides inner support for the gown. The original dressmakers label is still attached. Rose Gowns in New York City. The waist of the skirt snaps around from the left side to center front. Encircling the waist is a pleated and knotted sash of matching net lace. The skirts of the dress are a-line. The inner layer is ivory satin with a knife pleated lace ruffle. The lace matches the lace of the collar. The main layer is ivory silk/satin with a draped double layer of matching net lace with a handkerchief hem. The back of the gown has a very deep vee that is hidden by the Watteau back of the gown that extends below the waistline onto the back of the skirt. The back of the dress extends into the lace edged train. Excellent condition. There is slight under arm stain but fabric still in healthy, no slitting. Little hole in the lace on the back. Little spots. You’ll barely notice. The decoration is not included.
