Orange Silk Brocade Reception Gown, ca. 1905

Gorgeous ca. 1905 silk taffeta afternoon dress or reception gown in a tone on then orange stripe and with a floral and polka dot brocade. The dress has an ivory lace stand collar and chest yoke. The collar is trimmed in black velvet and dotted with faceted jet beads. Tucks down the center from to the bodice to the gathers at the waistline. Vertical tucks fall from the shoulders to the center front with jet beads down the inside tuck and lace trimming the outside edge. Hook closures down the back. Long, set in, 2pc sleeves fall with gathers and taper to the wrists. Ivory lace and jet beads adorn the lower sleeves. The gored skirt falls from a narrow waistband with a section of inverted pleats at the center back. A wide interfaced hemline and brown corduroy trim edges the inside hemline. Very good condition. Some silk wear at the back waistband. The black belt and the decoration are not included.
