Majestic ball gown, ca. 1909. Typical s-line of the fashion from this time, called the Princess-line. Label inside: „Rybicka-Meyer * Strassburg“. Strasbourg was since 1871 part of the German Reich and the capital from Alsace-Lorraine.
The dress is made of a blue-golden velvet fabric. Heart motifs in the fabric. Shimmering appearance in white, blue and grey – depended from the light incidence. One piece gown with a long train. Blue underskirt, typical for the fashion from this time: the underskirt is longer than the dress. Metal lace is worked in the bodice. Two panels of the same lace drop down until the hemline of the dress. Gold coloured cord in the chest area. Pale blue tulle in the bust area and on the ends of the sleeves. Wearable size and excellent condition. Minimal signs of wear and age. The decoration is not included.
