A beautiful lingerie dress, ca. 1904, origin: America. These dresses get their name from the material used. They are called "lingerie dresses" or "dessous dresses" because the materials used (cotton and light lace) and decoration techniques (inserted lace, embroidery, piping) were originally used for petticoats, chemises and other forms of lingerie. These dresses were mainly worn by younger women. And they were almost always white.
This dress is made of thin cotton fabric. Hanging bust, which is typical of the dresses of this period. Large flounces in the skirt area. Semi-circular, implied neckline, which was designed differently. It is the dress with the highest stand-up collar that we had in our hands anyway. And we had well over 1000 dresses in our hands! Back closure with buttons. A decorative ribbed silk bow. Wide pagoda sleeves. In very good condition. One tiny hole; one darkened area in the skirt. The decoration is not included.
