Wow, what an elegant tea dress or evening gown, ca. 1901. Provenance: Valentine Museum, America. The antique dress is made of bobbin lace and ribbon lace. All handmade! What an elaborate piece of work. The dress includes a bodice, skirt with train and belt. The top has a U-shaped neckline and back. It is closed at the back with hooks and eyes (there are only a few left). Long sleeves without lining. Cord appliqué in the chest area. Renewed inner silk. The silk belt is torn. Decorative and cord appliqués on the back. The skirt has a silk underskirt (in good condition) and a tulle underskirt that fully lines the long train (also torn). What makes this antique dress so unique is the great lace work! Beautiful for draping. The decoration (jewelry) is not included.
