Rare evening dress, ca. 1918. The dress is rare because it is a transitional dress between the Edwardian period and the golden 20s. It is made of black silk. More precisely: an underdress is covered with a flowing overdress. U-shaped neckline, short sleeves made of net tulle (decorated with small cabochon stones), chest and back decorated with sequins. The embellishments on the back end in a narrow train. Attached belt with large cabochon stones. Central appliqué made of glass beads and glass pins. The dress has no label, but it deserves one. It comes from the same collection as the Grant Bros. dresses. Probably owned by the same wearer. The antique dress is in very good condition. Minor sequin loss in the train, 1-2 small stains, a few hooks, eyelets and press studs are certainly missing, 1-2 tears in the lining of light-coloured silk, a stone in the belt is missing. The decoration is not included.
