Extraordinary evening dress, ca. 1908. Origin: Russia. The dress may have been worn by a Russian Grand Duchess, but in any case by a "great duches". The dress is not exactly small. It is made of black lace, black tulle and black velvet. There is also a matching black silk petticoat. Very nicely embroidered parts with black pearls and glass pins. Wide belt. Two hanging decorative bands with tassels in the front area. Metal lace in the semi-circular neckline. Tulle panels cover the shoulders and the half-length sleeves. Well preserved. A small tear in one of the applications in the chest area. This tear can easily be backed up. However, the silk of the dress has become thin in places and shows some tears. The dress is still very nice for draping. The decoration (bag, jewellery) is not included. Dresses from the Russia of the Tsars are extremely rare. This one comes from the circle of the Tsar's court.
