A sea foam green coat, ca. 1904, made from a dense, single weave, woollen fabric (broadcloth). The collar and cuffs are decorated with lace, black silk velvet ribbon and appliquéd cords. Additional "needlework" (in the sense of embroidery) rounds off the look. Long sleeves with cartridge pleats. Cartridge pleats are used to gather a large amount of fabric into a small cuff or arm without adding volume to the seam. The inside of the coat has a cream-coloured silk satin lining. Beautiful buttons with marcasite stones. In very good condition. Subtle signs of wear. Some minor repairs, slight discolouration/stains, certainly a few small holes. The inner lining is somewhat torn and brittle in the area of the inner collar. Can still be worn carefully today. The jewellery is not included.
