On November 2, 1922, excavators in the Egyptian Valley of the Kings stumbled upon the first steps of a new tomb. They had discovered one of the most significant archaeological finds of all time: the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. This find also started a new fashion wave: many Egyptian motifs entered fashion.
This blouse made of lace and tulle was created before this time and was worn in England. Rich Europeans were already going to Egypt since the turn of the century to admire the pyramids. Egyptian motifs are filigree woven into the fabric on the back, sleeves and chest area. Excellently preserved. For any museum planning an exhibition this year on Tutankhamun: a must. But also for collectors a wonderful addition.
