Extravagant ball or evening dress, ca. 1904. The dress is covered all over with black sequins and pearls. These are sewn onto net tulle. The antique dress is a two-piece consisting of a top and skirt. The bust of the top is made of lace. Appliqués - almost like suspenders - are attached here. Half-length sleeves that end with a lace cuff. High stand-up collar. Slightly hanging dove breast. Pleated silk sash/belt at the waist. The skirt ends in a train. Silk hem. Silk underskirt, with a dust band of pleated silk ruffles. Well preserved. Very little loss of pearls - if any. It is difficult to notice on the lavishly embroidered dress. The sequins all shimmer beautifully in the light. Some appear matte in the photos - this is due to the lighting conditions. Dresses of this type have two weak points: the skirt/train and the waist area of the skirt. This dress is no exception. There are also a few tears in the net tulle. The tear is slightly larger in the area of one hip. The decoration is not included.
