Unique evening dress from Bern, ca. 1903. The label of Bühler and Hofstettler on the waistband refers to Switzerland. The evening dress is a two-piece dress: with skirt and bodice. The angular, almost austere velvet appliqués are striking. They lend the dress something austere, but also something elegant. Black lace has been worked over cream-coloured silk. This is reflected in the top and also in the skirt. Tulle in the chest cutout of the bodice. Small velvet bows on the top. Indicated velvet belt. Wide velvet hem at the skirt. In addition to tulle and velvet there are black sequins, which give the dress additional elegance. Good to very good condition. The skirt almost gets the predicate excellent, if there wouldn't be a hole in the lace. The bodice carries the traces of the time somewhat more strongly. Some of the sequin appliqués are loose and would have to be sewn on again. Some sequies are missing. A few smal stains. Open seams on the sleeves. Slight wear of the silk in the closure area by means of hooks and eyelets. Inside stronger discolorations and traces of wear. Nevertheless: a unique antique garment. Beautiful for draping and collecting. Decoration is not included.
