Antique-Gown

Elegant dress from the Art Nouveau period, ca. 1902. Made is the antique one-piece dress of ribbed brown silk. It is decorated with brown velvet, lace and floral applications. Drooping chest. Long sleeves that are two-thirds lace. High stand-up collar. Velvet appliques are on the skirt in geometric shapes. Hanging tassels of brown silk on the front and back. Small train. The antique art nouveau dress is in very good condition on the outside. The thin inner silk lining the top and skirt is very dry and brittle. It is very torn in many places. However, the dress is very nice for decorating. Tiny stains in the top. The back of the lace breast insert is no longer complete. These dresses were not made to survive 120 years. The fact that they are still around at all is a minor miracle. The decoration is not included.
