Art Nouveau dress in a cocoa brown cashmere. Label: “Mlle. * J. Franken * 35 Breevort PL* Brooklyn”. Pleats fall from the shoulders to the center front and back waistlines. Button detail on the shoulders and front. V-neckline with an ivory net and then heavily adorned in ivory crochet lace, rose silk, brown silk and gold bullion lace. Short sleeves in brown cashmere with under sleeves in ivory net and finished with cuffs in rose silk and gold lace. The slender skirt falls from the pleating at the waistline. Decorative pleats on the front with a drape down the left front side. Hook and eye closures down the back. The dress is lined in brown and ivory silk with full stays in the bodice. The antique Art Nouveau gown is in very good condition. Only the silk lining under the net at the chest is shattering. This will need to be replaced to some extent because it is effecting the closures at the back. Minor splits in the silk taffeta skirt lining. Two small moth holes in the train. The decoration is not included.
