Art Nouveau Black Silk Gown, ca. 1908

Amazing Art Nouveau gown in black organza, lace and chiffon! The antique gown has a square neckline with a stand collar and yoke in shirred netting and pin tucks. Dart fitted silk lining through the bodice with an over blouse in soutache trimmed silk organza and embroidered lace. A separate panel drops from the front bodice and falls over the pigeon waist pouf. A large black satin bow adorns the left side front bodice. Long, set in sleeves in pin tucked, silk organza and soutache trim at the wrists. Black satin cummerbund style sash waistband. Gored skirt in black silk chiffon falls in accordion pleats with a taffeta underskirt and yards of accordion pleated chiffon ruffles attached to the underskirt. Overskirt falls on either side of the center front in black organza covered in soutache designs. The bodice has hook and eye closures up the back. Fully lined in black china silk and fully boned. The antique Art Nouveau dress is in excellent condition. Only the ivory silk yoke lining is shattering as well as the ivory chiffon sleeve lining. The decoration is not included.
