Gorgeous Art Nouveau evening gown in an ivory swirl and polka dot silk brocade. Label: “ Elsa Winscher * Robes * 146 East 33 Street * New York”. The antique gown has a scoop neckline with a stand collar and yoke of ivory lace. Gold rope braid trims the upper edge of the collar. Gold bullion lace creates a modesty piece at the back neckline. The bodice is dart fitted and has an ovulary of black silk chiffon and trimmed around the neck in gold bullion braid. Around the neckline and the overlapping front is a black bugle beaded motif that give the appearance of lace and is under the chiffon. Two large gold bullion knots decorate the front bodice. Short, set in sleeves mimic the bodice with the same beading and chiffon overlay. Cummerbund sash waistband circles the natural waistline seam and ends beneath a black sequin appliqué. Gored skirt falls from the waistline with an overskirt in chiffon that falls in pleats. The chiffon is trimmed along the hemline in the same beadwork motif. Hook and eye closures down the back. Bodice is fully lined in ivory silk and is boned. The antique Art Nouveau dress is in very good condition. Only the ivory chiffon facing on the lace yoke has some holes. Small break in the chiffon under the right arm. There are about five faint stains on the lower skirt. Luckily they are mostly under the chiffon. The decoration is not included.
