Very elegant jacket from the Edwardian period, ca. 1908. Label: Amy Linker & Co. * Rue Auber 1 * Rue Boudreau * Paris. In the fashion magazines of this time one finds very many advertisements of this fashion house. Amy Linker & Co. were en vogue at this time. Even more: the original dress (cream and striped) of Kate Windslet in the movie Titanic, when she gets out of the car, is also from this fashion house.
This jacket is made of white linen and lined with cotton inside. Dense, handmade soutache covers the jacket. Knot decorations and embroideries are added. Front closure with hooks and eyelets. Very good to excellent condition. We found the jacket in a very fresh, hand washed condition. Therefore the hooks and eyes are a little bit rusty inside. Some of the knot decorations are missing. A beautiful jacket from an Edwardian era haute couture fashion house. Blouse and jewellery are not included.
