Jacket made of light-colored linen, ca. 1910, provenance: Valentine Museum, America. The jacket was purchased from Altman & Co. Purchased - in Paris or New York. Probably New York for us. B. Altman and Company was a luxury department store and department store chain founded in 1865 in New York City, New York, by Benjamin Altman. Its flagship, the B. Altman and Company Building at Fifth Avenue and 34th Street in Midtown Manhattan, operated from 1906 until the store closed in late 1989. The jacket bears the label on the inside of the collar. Beautiful openwork. Long sleeves with wide cuffs. Beautiful embroidery. In very good condition. One discolored area on one sleeve, subtle signs of age and wear. The decoration is not included.
