Two-piece antique dinner dress, ca. 1895. Provenance: American collection. The fabric is a champagne-colored silk satin. Pleated and ruched silk chiffon covering on the front and back of the bodice, as well as on the band collar. Gigot sleeves/ham sleeves decorated with lace. The skirt is pleated at the back and ends in a small train. A heavy silk cord has been attached to protect the hem. Lace dust ruffle. Well preserved. The lace on the shoulders shows tears; small stains (as this is a dinner dress), abrasion in the waist area of the skirt (and elsewhere in the skirt), a small tear in the right elbow area; flaws in the chiffon. The decoration is not included.
