Two-piece reception dress, ca. 1896, the appearance is fresh, the color extraordinary. A real highlight. Provenance: English collection. The base fabric is a woven gray silk with navy blue flowers reminiscent of elderflowers. The bodice, the large gigot sleeves and the front of the skirt are made of royal blue silk covered with machine-made lace. High collar. Implied breasts/bust support. Blue appliqués with hanging, small pompoms. The inside of the top is lined with glazed cotton. The inside of the skirt is lined with light-colored cotton. Wide border in the hem area, decorated with lace. In very good condition. Subtle underarm stains, which are covered by the large sleeves. A few light stains. Wear to the hem at the center back. The top is slightly stained on the inside. The decoration is not included.
