Two-piece aubergine coloured silk visiting gown, ca. 1889. Label: (Madame) Percy. The antique silk dress captivates by the circular collar made of lace, which is made in Renaissance style. Equally unique are the sleeves interrupted by lace. The front is laid in small lappets in the area of the neckline. Coloured satin ribbon as belt with small buckles made of rhinestones. The colour-contrasting silk continues in a wide band on the back of the skirt and in the train. The skirt is pleated in the hem area. Very well preserved. Half of the waistband is missing, so is half of the label. A few small holes in the skirt. The decoration is not included.
Clothes of Madame Percy we found only in one museum: The Museum at FIT (New York).
