Two piece ivory moiré faille printed evening gown with polychrome roses, ca. 1898. Label on petersham: “Mon Henriette Tissier, Cauet Soeurs Succrs Co., Robes & Manteaux, 17. Rue de Rome, Paris”. The boned bodice having deep front point and short lace sleeve, trimmed with ivory satin bows, lace, and paste buttons. Attached open-front printed overskirt trimmed with lace and satin bows. Hem of train backed with pleated silk and ruched chiffon, satin underskirt having bands of stitched-down self pleats and lace ruffles. The bodice is in good condition, the skirt in fair condition. Bodice has small tears hidden beneath back closure, one bow damaged, some missing pastes, tear to one lace sleeve, skirt lining shattered, large splits to satin center panel, waistband shattered.
