Wedding dress in champagne silk satin, ca. 1896. British label: Fitch & Co. * Malton. Malton is a country town in the English county of North Yorkshire and the administrative seat of Ryedale District.
The antique dress is a two-piece. A plain skirt flows out into a long train. The bodice is decorated with tulle on the cuffs, the high stand-up collar on the epaulettes and in the chest area. Belt attached to the top which is decorated on the back and front, side left with a bow each. Back closure with hooks and eyes. The dress is in very good condition. Minor stains in the skirt. Discreet signs of age and wear. Minor flaws in the tulle (especially on the sleeves). A water stain in the lining of the skirt (not visible on the outside); a small piece in the lining is missing. Fan, veil, jewelry and crown are not included.
Accompanied by two photos each of the bride and groom. Three imprint stamps in gold: 1. Lafayette, 2. Photographer to the Queen 3. London, Dublin, Glasgow & Manchester.
