Ruby red evening dress, ca. 1892. Origin: England. The fabric is a ribbed silk fabric lavishly decorated with black lace. The bodice closes in the front with matching colored buttons (the top two are missing; the lace covers the buttonholes). Indicated belt made of velvet. Half-length sleeves decorated with velvet and lace cuffs. Semi-circular neckline trimmed with a wide collar of lace. The skirt has beautifully pleated sections in the front hem area; decorated with fringes. Unusual is the large apron made of lace, which decorates the skirt - and thus the dress. Very well preserved. On the back a stain. The decoration is not included.
The lot also includes a ruby red silk satin fan. Glazed cotton on the back. Bars made of ebonized wood with sawn out sections. Well preserved. Discreet signs of age and use.
