A beautiful antique original embroidered white silk chiffon and yellow velvet evening dress, ca. 1895. The label reads Darlington Runk and CO. Philadelphia. The bodice has yellow velvet leg of mutton sleeves. The waist is trimmed with yellow velvet and has a large bow and streamers at the back. The neckline is decorated with a wide lace bertha styled collar. The sleeve cuffs are trimmed with a lace flounce. The bodice is lined with silk and has a front hook and eye closure. The chiffon fabric is embroidered with circles. The skirt is lined with silk. The dress is in very good condition. There is some light underarm discoloration, a period mend in the lace collar and a few tiny splits. There is some splitting in the bodice lining and a couple of missing eyes, and a hole in the chiffon under one arm. None of the flaws are major and do not distract from the overall appearance. So: Very good condition. The decoration is not included.
