This wonderful antique cinnamon brown wool suit has a name and a date! It was Mrs. M.N. Little, made for her in 1898 in St. Louis. Labels: Straub * St. Louis and Mrs. M.N. Little Feb 19-1898. It’s a tailored bodice/jacket, with fitted sleeve, high collar and boning. Both pieces are lined or interlined in a red changeable silk taffeta. The gored skirt is flared toward the back with pleats and a slight train at the center back. The wonderful passementerie braid trim in gold and orange is sued to outline the collar, fronts, hem and cuffs to the jacket, plus create a faux bolero line at the fronts and shoulders. The trim is repeated on the side fronts of the skirt at the waist and hem. Very good condition, but with losses to the lining. There are 4 moth holes at the front hip level of the skirt. The decoration (handbag and pearls) is not included.
