Diese Holzsandalen nennt man auch Kapkap. Der Kapkap ist vor allem in der Levante zu Hause, besonders an den Küsten Kleinasiens, Syriens und Ägyptens. Dieses Paar Holzsandalen stammt aus Damaskus und war bis vor kurzem Teil einer Sammlung in England. Schöne Perlmuttverzierungen, Ristband aus Metallfäden. Getragen wurden diese Sandalen von Frauen, die ihren kleinen Körperwuchs mittels Stelzschuhen ausgleichen wollten. Das Laufen war sehr beschwerlich damit. Ohne die Hilfe von Dienerinnen, die stützend zur Hilfe kamen, war das Laufen wohl unmöglich. Es gibt Berichte von europäischen Reisenden, dass die Kapkaps bei Hochzeiten von „Kinderbräuten“ getragen wurden. Andere berichten vom Tragen im öffentlichen Bad. Sehr gut erhalten.
