Empire Stroll Umbrella, ca. 1818

Sehr seltener Flanierschirm aus der Spätzeit des Empires oder aus der Frühzeit des Biedermeiers, ca. 1820. Herkunft: Frankreich. Die Schienen sind aus Holz und aus handgeschmiedetem Metall. Der Stock und der Griff aus Mahagoni-Holz. Der Schirm ist klappbar und mit einer Kartusche aus Messing arretierbar. Die Spitze ist aus Bein; ein Teil scheint zu fehlen. Braune Fransen an der Spitze. Für das Alter: gut bis sehr gut erhalten. Wir haben den Schirm nicht vollständig gespannt – daher die Wäscheklammer. Die Dekoration ist nicht inbegriffen.

Very rare stroll umbrella from the late Empire or early Biedermeier period, ca. 1820. Origin: France. The rails are made of wood and hand-forged metal. The stick and the handle are made of mahogany wood. The umbrella is hinged and lockable with a brass cartouche. The tip is made of bone; one part appears to be missing. Brown fringe on the tip. For the age: in good to very good condition. We have not fully stretched the umbrella - hence the clothespin. The decoration is not included.
