Summer Gown, England, ca. 1855

 
Sehr schönes Sommerkleid oder Teekleid, ca. 1855. Herkunft: England. Das Kleid besteht aus einem Unterkleid und einem Überkleid.
Das Unterkleid ist aus Seidentaft; es ist mit Baumwolle abgefüttert und wird rückwärts mit Haken und Ösen geschlossen. Gut erhalten. Leichte Schweißflecken in den Achselhöhlen; hier ist die Seide etwas zersplittert. Das Überkleid ist aus Tüll gefertigt. Der Tüll ist kaskadenförmlg am Rock angebracht und sehr schön bestickt. Am Ärmel ist er – dank der Nähart – in einem gerippten Muster gefertigt. Die langen Ärmel werden mit je einem Perlmutt-Knopf geschlossen. Mit der gleichen Knopfart wird das Tüllkleid rückwärts geschlossen. Schön herausgearbeitete Schneppe, die typisch für die Kleider dieser Zeit ist. Im Tallenbereich viele kleine Falten, die den Rock glockenförmig fallen lassen. Sehr gut erhalten. Unveränderter Zustand mit kleinen, dem Alter entsprechenden Mängeln. Leichte Verfärbung an einem Tüllbündchen. Die Dekoration ist nicht inbegriffen. 

Very nice summer or tea dress, ca. 1855. Origin: England. The dress consists of an underdress and an overdress.
The underdress is made of silk taffeta; it is lined with cotton and closes backwards with hooks and eyes. In good condition. Light sweat stains in the armpits; here the silk is somewhat shattered. The overdress is made of tulle. The tulle is cascade-förmlg attached to the skirt and very nicely embroidered. On the sleeve, it is made in a ribbed pattern - thanks to the way it is sewn. The long sleeves are closed with one mother-of-pearl button each. The same type of button closes the tulle dress backwards. Beautifully worked out snood, which is typical for the dresses of this period. In the waist area many small pleats that make the skirt fall in a bell shape. Very well preserved. Unaltered condition with small flaws corresponding to the age. Slight discoloration on one tulle cuff. The decoration is not included.
