Empire Cotton Dress, France, ca. 1805-1810

Seltenes Baumwollkleid aus der Zeit des Empire, ca. 1805-1810. Herkunft: Frankreich. Das Oberteil ist innen mit gröberer Baumwolle abgefüttert. Schnüre im Taillenbereich und rückwärts im Halsausschnitt. Kleine Schulterapplikationen. Lange Ärmel, die mit schönen Manschetten versehen sind. Der Rock ist hinten in Falten gelegt. Vorne wird der Rock als „Schürzen-Rock“ am Oberteil mittels Schnüren angebracht. Zwei Möglichkeiten der Schnürung sind möglich. Kleine Falten sind am unteren Teil des Rockes eingenäht worden. Zwei kleine (originale) Knöpfe im Schulterbereich sind wohl für das Anbringen eines Capes gebraucht worden. Exzellent erhalten. Ein winziger Fleck. Eine Schlaufe für die rückwärtige Schnürung ist offen. Die Dekoration ist nicht inbegriffen.

Rare cotton dress from the Empire period, ca. 1805-1810. Origin: France. The top is lined inside with coarser cotton. Cords at waist and back neckline. Small shoulder appliqués. Long sleeves that have beautiful cuffs. The skirt is pleated in the back. In the front, the skirt is attached to the top as an "apron skirt" by means of strings. Two ways of lacing are possible. Small pleats have been sewn in at the bottom of the skirt. Two small (original) buttons in the shoulder area have probably been used to attach a cape. Excellent condition. One tiny stain. One loop for the back lacing is open. The decoration is not included.
