Ball Gown, Italy, ca. 1859

Sonnenblumengelbes Ballkleid aus Seide, ca. 1859. Herkunft: Italien. Das Ballkleid besteht aus Oberteil, Rock, Gürtel und rückwärtige Rockschürze. Das Oberteil hat kurze Ballonärmel. Ärmel und der halbrunde Ausschnitt sind mit einer kleinen Bordüre aus Spitze verziert. Der Halsausschnitt ist zudem mit in Falten gelegte Rüschen verziert, die sich über den Brustbereich bis zur Taille ziehen. Kleine Bordüre mit Fransen. Das Fransenmotiv zieht sich im runden Rock fort. Drei herumlaufende Bordüren mit längeren Fransen sind am Rock angebracht. Vier kleine Seidenschleifen im vorderen Bereich. Der Gürtel wird rückwärts mit (erneuerten) Haken und Ösen geschlossen. An dem Gürtel wird die Rockschürze befestigt. Schleife, Fransen und Zierbänder runden ihr Erscheinungsbild ab. Zum Kleid gehört noch der originale Fächer. Gefertigt aus Stäben aus Bein. Das Blatt ist aus der gleichen Seide (wie das Kleid) gefertigt und mit Seidenapplikationen verziert. Fächer und Kleid sind – für das Alter – sehr gut erhalten. Unveränderter Zustand mit kleinen, dem Alter entsprechenden Mängeln. Kleinere Flecken auf dem Rock. Die Dekoration ist nicht inbegriffen.

Sunflower yellow silk ball gown, ca. 1859. Origin: Italy. The ball gown consists of bodice, skirt, belt and back skirt apron. The top has short balloon sleeves. Sleeves and the semicircular neckline are decorated with a small border of lace. The neckline is also decorated with pleated ruffles that extend across the chest area to the waist. Small border with fringes. The fringe motif continues in the round skirt. Three wraparound borders with longer fringes are attached to the skirt. Four small silk bows in the front. The belt closes backwards with (renewed) hooks and eyes. The skirt apron is attached to the belt. Bow, fringe and decorative ribbons complete its appearance. To the dress still belongs the original fan. Made of sticks of bone. The leaf is made of the same silk (as the dress) and decorated with silk applications. Fan and dress are - for the age - very well preserved. Unaltered condition with minor flaws commensurate with age. Minor stains on the skirt. The decoration is not included.
