Elegant one-piece candlelight silk satin wedding dress with original bridal veil, dated 1912. Empire bodice with Brussels mixed lace overlay & pearl embroidery. Long attached train. Short sleeves. The skirt has cascade of lace down the right site. Skirt and sleeves draped with a pearl button. Draped like a dream, the sash is lined with silk and decorated on the back with organza silk quillings. Excellent condition, only the sash has one little stain – maybe from dancing with the bridal. Some embroidered pearls are missing. That is not significant for this Edwardian artwork.
The antique orange blossom wax flower lace net wedding veil is made of an off white net lace and a lace with flower motif. This beautiful headpiece has a wired wreath style with wax orange blossom droplets. The net veil lace measure 118 inches (3,0 meter) long. It is in good condition, with only a few holes in the net lace.
Attendant to the lot: dress, veil, a photo of the bride in their wedding dress (Eleanor Milligan Gregg/Mrs. Charles A. Dickson) and a another photo of Eleanor Milligan Gregg.
