Afternoon Dress, America, ca. 1890

Zweiteiliges Nachmittagskleid in der Farbe „Cafe au lait“, ca. 1890. Herkunft: Amerika. Der Stoff ist ein Seidentaft, der leicht schimmert. Das Oberteil hat eine geraffte schwarze Seidensatin-Frontpartie, die mit applizierten Satin-Rüschen eingefasst ist. Gürtel und Manschetten sind aus der gleichen, schwarzen Seide hergestellt. Der Gürtel hat eine kleine Zierschnalle. Aufgelegter Kragen aus Spitze, angenähte Spitzen an den Ärmeln. Im Rock setzten sich die schwarzen Satin-Applikationen fort. Die Applikationen imitieren den sog. „offenen Gewand-Stil“ eines Kleides aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Sehr gut erhalten. Dezente Unterarmflecken; vereinzelte winzige Flecken; einige Haken und Ösen fehlen sicherlich; die Brust-Frontpartie müsste auf einer Seite angenäht werden; die Spitze ist an wenigen Stellen fleckig. Die Dekoration ist nicht inbegriffen.

Two-piece afternoon dress in the color "Cafe au lait", ca. 1890. Origin: America. The fabric is a silk taffeta that has a slight shimmer. The bodice has a gathered black silk satin front panel edged with appliqued satin ruffles. The belt and cuffs are made of the same black silk. The belt has a small decorative buckle. Attached collar made of lace, sewn-on lace on the sleeves. In the skirt continued the black satin applications. The applications imitate the so-called "open robe style" of a dress from the 18th century. Very well preserved. Discreet underarm stains; scattered tiny spots; some hooks and eyes are certainly missing; the bust front panel would need to be sewn on one side; the lace is stained in a few places. Decoration is not included.
