These elegant ivory‑coloured silk shoes from the Rococo period, dating to ca. 1790, represent a refined example of 18th‑century English footwear. Crafted in soft ivory silk, the shoes feature a beautifully worked embroidered vamp with delicate chain stitching and shimmering sequins, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship typical of late Rococo fashion. The original gold‑coloured metal buckles from the period add a touch of aristocratic splendour, while the curved Italian heels and pointed toes reflect the graceful silhouette preferred in elite circles of Georgian England.
Despite their age, the shoes remain in good to very good condition, with only two small defects that do not detract from their overall appearance. The proportions are typical for the era: heel height approx. 4 cm, and length approx. 22 cm / 8.5 inches. Please note that the decoration shown in some images is not included.
As authentic examples of Rococo silk shoes, pieces of this quality and preservation are increasingly rare. Their combination of period embroidery, original buckles, and Italian‑style heels makes them a desirable addition for collectors of 18th‑century fashion, museum‑quality footwear, or English Rococo textiles.
