 Printed Wool Dressing Gown, America, ca. 1866

 
Einteiliges Hauskleid oder Morgenkleid, ca. 1866. Herkunft: Amerika. Zwei Buchstaben „G“ sind spiegelverkehrt in einem Kreis aufgedruckt. Kleiner Stehkragen; lange Ärmel; Applikationen aus Samt mit lilafarbener Seidenumrandung; Schwarze Knöpfe, die mit Samt bezogen sind. Die Rückseite ist ab der Taille in kleine Falten gelegt. Kleine Schleppe, die typisch für die Kleider dieser Zeit ist. Innen mit glacierter Baumwolle gefüttert. Mäßig gut erhalten. Das Innenleibchen (aus brauner Baumwolle) hat einige Löcher und ist etwas fragil. Ein paar Löcher/reparierte Löcher. Tragespuren, vor allem an den diagonalen Applikationen in der Höhe der Hände/Taille; zwei Knöpfe sind wohl versetzt worden, zwei ausgetauscht; ein Loch im linken Unterarm. Die Dekoration ist nicht inbegriffen. Sehr schön zum Drapieren und Ausstellen, auch wenn es kleinere Fehler hat.

One-piece house dress or morning dress, ca. 1866. Origin: America. Two letters "G" are printed in mirror image in a circle. Small stand-up collar; long sleeves; velvet appliqués with purple silk edging; black buttons covered with velvet. The back is pleated in small folds from the waist. Small train typical of the dresses of this period. Inside lined with glazed cotton. Fair condition. The inner bodice (made of brown cotton) has some holes and is a bit fragile. A few holes/repaired holes. Wear marks, especially on the diagonal appliqués at the hands/waist level; two buttons have probably been moved, two replaced; one hole in the left forearm. The decoration is not included. Very nice for draping and display, although it has minor flaws.
